I have been reading a lot of Lovecraft in the last year or so, mostly because of the H. P. Lovecraft literary Podcast at hppodcraft.com. The truth is that Cthulhu is not my favorite of his monsters but it is the monster that seems to be most well known and popular. Perhaps the strangest thing to me is that these are all in many ways so similar.
